Sauté the onions until softened. Add the ground beef and break it up while it browns. Add a pinch of salt and pepper. Once browned, drain any excess grease.

Add the tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and mustard. Stir until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the spices.

Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes, or even an hour.

Grill the hot dogs to your liking.

Place the grilled hot dogs in the buns and top with the chili and chopped onions.
